Prof. Conny Östman, Stockholm University

Prof. Conny Östman joined Department of Analytical Chemistry, Stockholm University in 1997 after previous 10-year experience in Swedish National Institute for Occupational Health, and was promoted to full professor in analytical chemistry in 2014 in Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry (now part of Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry). He is also the program director for analytical chemistry at Stockholm University since 2018.

As an expert in organic analytical chemistry, Prof. Östman has rich experience in chromatography, trace analysis and method development. His major research interests include:

    a) Target, suspect and non-target analytical methods based on gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS), liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS).

    b) Solvent free screening methods for chemicals in materials using automated thermal desorption (ATD) with special focus on textile materials, fibers and new materials.

    c) Method development and trace analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons/compounds (PAH/PAC), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), phthalates, organophosphates.

Prof. Östman has more than 4600 citations on his publication with an h-index of 34. Currently his group are conducting research programs funded by MISTRA, Formas, SNV, etc.
